We are seeking highly motivated research scientists to join our Trustworthy AI team and contribute to A Comprehensive Copyright Framework for AI-Assisted Animation: Legal, Technical, and Economic Safeguards for the Creative Industry. Supported by AI Singapore, the project aims to develop practical, responsible solutions for copyright protection, content provenance, rights attribution, and fair value sharing in AI-assisted creative production. Successful candidates will work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Copyright, and the Creative Industries, with opportunities to publish in leading venues, collaborate with academic, legal, technology, and industry partners, and contribute to the advancement of trustworthy generative AI.
Research Areas
Depending on your expertise and interests, you may contribute to one or more of the following areas:
- Copyright-aware generative AI for animation and creative content
- Content provenance, attribution, watermarking, and AI-generated content detection
- Rights management, licensing, and fair compensation mechanisms for creators
- Multimodal learning for text, image, audio, video, and animation assets
- Trustworthy AI, including transparency, accountability, privacy, fairness, and explainability
- Human-AI collaboration and responsible innovation for the creative industries
Responsibilities
- Conduct cutting-edge research on AI, copyright, and responsible creative technologies.
- Develop and evaluate methods for provenance tracking, attribution, rights protection, and content verification.
- Collaborate with legal scholars, creators, technology experts, economists, and industry stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and validate AI systems using modern machine learning and multimodal frameworks.
- Publish research findings and translate project outcomes into practical frameworks, tools, and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should be a PhD holder and possess one or more of the following backgrounds:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Machine Learning
- Computer Science
- Data Science
- Computational Law or Legal Technology
- Digital Media, Animation, or Creative Technologies
- Economics, Information Systems, or Technology Policy
- Related disciplines
Candidates should have experience in some of the following:
- Deep learning and generative AI (PyTorch or TensorFlow)
- Large language models, multimodal models, diffusion models, or transformers
- Digital watermarking, content provenance, media forensics, or AI-generated content detection
- Responsible AI, copyright, intellectual property, legal technology, or digital rights management
- Research software development, data analysis, and GPU computing
Strong publications record in ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, JMLR, TPAMI, etc.
Strong analytical, programming, research, and communication skills are expected.
