As a Category Sourcing Manager (CSM) / Buyer, you will serve as a key point of contact for supplier engagement, category management, and strategic sourcing activities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage digital and AI-enabled tools to drive data-driven decision-making, enhance supplier performance, and create business value.

In this role, you will:

• Partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers to build a comprehensive understanding of supplier performance and support long-term sourcing success.
• Utilize analytics, digital solutions, and emerging AI technologies to identify opportunities, improve efficiencies, and support informed procurement decisions.
• Participate in and lead sourcing initiatives focused on cost optimization, supply base enhancement, and contract negotiation.

Responsibilities

Strategic Supplier Management & Business Partnership

• Lead supplier performance management and strategic supplier relationships for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with Micron's business objectives, operational requirements, and long-term growth plans.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between Micron and suppliers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Facilities, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Global Procurement teams to support business priorities and sourcing initiatives.

Category Sourcing & Procurement Excellence

• Own and execute end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for assigned categories, including supplier selection, RFx processes, contract negotiations, and supplier performance reviews.
• Support the development and execution of category strategies that drive cost competitiveness, supply continuity, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, service agreements, and contracts to achieve the best value for Micron while maintaining strong supplier partnerships.

AI-Driven Analytics & Digital Transformation

• Leverage data analytics, digital tools, and emerging AI technologies to generate sourcing insights, improve decision making, and enhance procurement efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and optimize procurement processes through AI-enabled and digital solutions.
• Demonstrate a continuous learning mindset by embracing new technologies and applying innovative approaches to improve procurement outcomes.

Cost Management & Value Creation

• Drive cost reduction, cost avoidance, and value engineering initiatives while maintaining quality, service, and supply reliability.
• Support capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning, budgeting activities, cash flow management, and procurement-related financial objectives.
• Track and report procurement metrics, savings performance, supplier performance, and key business outcomes.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with Micron procurement policies, governance requirements, and ethical sourcing standards.
• Support supplier audits, site assessments, and compliance reviews to ensure supplier adherence to quality, safety, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
• Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks that could impact business operations.

Continuous Improvement & Career Development

• Develop deep category and market knowledge to become a trusted advisor on sourcing strategies, supplier management, and procurement best practices.
