About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Drafter to join our Oil & Gas engineering team. This role combines technical drafting work with practical support for assembly activities. You will be responsible for preparing and revising detailed technical drawings, assisting engineers with layouts, and providing support during assembly to ensure smooth execution.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, assembly layouts, and fabrication details using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
· Translate engineering sketches and concepts into clear, production-ready drawings.
· Assist engineers and supervisors on the shop floor during assembly work — including verifying fit-ups, measurements, and part orientations based on drawings.
· Provide hands-on support for assembly activities such as marking, alignment checks, part verification, and inspection of assembled components when needed.
· Coordinate with workshop personnel to ensure correct interpretation of drawings and adherence to tolerances.
· Update and revise drawings to reflect design or process changes.
· Maintain drawing and document control systems to ensure proper versioning.
· Support preparation of bills of materials (BOMs) and part lists for production planning.
· Ensure all drawings and assembly work comply with company quality and safety standards.
· Liaise with purchasing and operations to ensure correctness of procured items.
Requirements
· Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
· Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other 2D/3D CAD software.
· Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and assembly instructions.
· Comfortable working both at the desk (drafting) and on the shop floor (assembly support).
· Strong attention to detail and quality in both drawing and physical assembly work.
· Good communication and teamwork skills; able to coordinate between engineering and production teams.
· Prior experience in a fabrication or assembly workshop is an advantage (fresh graduates are welcome to apply).
