About Our Client

Our client is a Singapore-headquartered, publicly listed data centre operator with a large and growing footprint across Asia, North America and Europe. They are expanding rapidly into AI and HPC infrastructure, and power has become their most important strategic capability.

About the Role

The company is building its global power infrastructure function and is hiring the person to lead it. This is a hands-on senior role: you will secure grid capacity for new sites, lead engagement with utilities and regulators across multiple countries, and set the electrical engineering standards their data centres are built and operated to. You will act as the company's power infrastructure expert and a trusted advisor to senior leadership on where and how they invest.

Initially an individual-contributor role building the function, with scope to grow a team as the portfolio expands.

What You'll Do

• Own the global power infrastructure strategy and roadmap.
• Lead utility, transmission and regulatory engagement to secure grid access and interconnection for new sites.
• Provide technical leadership on substations, transmission planning, grid interconnection and data centre electrical design.
• Support site selection with power availability assessment, capacity studies and infrastructure planning.
• Set global standards, design frameworks and engineering best practices for power systems across all sites.
• Advise senior leadership on power investments, engineering decisions and emerging technologies.
• Work closely with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Government Relations and Business Development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or High Voltage Engineering. Master's or PhD an advantage.
• Minimum 12 years' post-graduation experience in electrical power systems, including at least 5 years in transmission, grid planning or large-load grid connection.
• Hands-on experience with HV/EHV networks (22kV to 400kV): substation design, protection and control, switching, energisation and commissioning.
• Proven track record leading grid connection or interconnection applications for large loads or generation — capacity assessment, network impact studies, connection agreements.
• Direct experience engaging utilities and energy regulators. In Singapore this means EMA, SP PowerAssets or SP PowerGrid; equivalent overseas experience is equally valued.
• Competent in power system studies (load flow, short circuit, harmonics, stability) using ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E or PSCAD.
• Working knowledge of data centre electrical architecture: MV/LV distribution, N+1 and 2N redundancy, UPS, standby generation and Uptime Tier concepts.
• Familiar with IEC and IEEE standards; IEC 61000-4-30, IEEE 519 and EN 50160 an advantage.
• Comfortable reading technical documents and presenting at international meetings and conferences.

Good to Have

• Power delivery experience on data centre, semiconductor or other large-load industrial projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE / P.Eng) registration or chartered status.
• On-site generation, BESS integration or renewable PPA structuring.
