Project Engineer
About this job
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering and infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for project coordination, site activities, testing and commissioning, stakeholder coordination, and technical issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project submissions, including specifications, drawings, test procedures and method statements, and coordinate with the project team to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Supervise on-site installation, testing and commissioning, interface and integration activities, punch-list/defect rectification and handover activities to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, interfacing contractors and other project stakeholders to resolve site issues, clashes and implementation matters.
- Monitor project schedules and progress, and support the preparation of project updates and reports to ensure timely delivery.
- Attend project meetings and coordinate follow-up actions to support project delivery.
- Conduct and/or supervise site surveys, fibre optic (FO) routing verification, cable installation, network equipment installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate the resolution of site constraints, routing conflicts, FO core allocation issues and other technical matters arising during implementation.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of network equipment configuration issues, communication failures, network connectivity issues and system integration matters during installation, testing, commissioning and migration activities.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to facilitate smooth project implementation and handover.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in project coordination, site installation, testing and commissioning involving rail systems, communications networks or fibre optic infrastructure.
- Experience in rail or transit projects, including system upgrading, A&A works or new system implementation, would be advantageous.
- Experience coordinating with project stakeholders, contractors and transit/railway operators would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with Permit-to-Work (PTW), engineering access procedures, approval processes and stakeholder coordination in railway environments would be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, BIM or similar drawing tools for design drawing review.
- Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Able to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
- Willing to work during night or engineering hours when required.
- Willing to travel between office and project sites as required.
Working Conditions
The role may require work during night or engineering hours and regular travel between office and project sites, depending on project requirements.
