Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Process Control Engineer to provide technical leadership across complex process control and safety systems in large-scale industrial environments.
This role requires deep expertise in advanced process control, functional safety, and system optimization, combined with strong leadership across engineering, operations, and EPC delivery phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all process control engineering activities across project lifecycle (design, EPC, commissioning, and operations support)
- Review and approve control system deliverables including logic diagrams, control narratives, and interfaces specifications
- Ensure robust design, configuration, and integration of control systems, shutdown systems, alarms, and safeguarding functions
- Validate process control calculations, cause-and-effect matrices, and functional safety compliance (SIL)
- Drive optimization of control loops and overall process performance for efficiency, safety, and cost outcomes
- Participate in safety studies and ensure closure of control and safety-related recommendations
- Interface with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment across engineering, operations, and digital systems
- Ensure compliance with relevant international codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Core Capabilities
- Deep expertise in PID control, feedback control, and advanced control strategies
- Strong knowledge of distributed control +systems (DCS), SCADA, and safety instrumented systems (SIS)
- Advanced understanding of functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508 / 61511) and SIL assessments
- Proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize process control performance
- Experience with process simulation and modeling tools (e.g., HYSYS, UniSim, MATLAB)
- Strong engineering judgment across brownfield and live operating environments
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Control & Automation Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in process control within complex industrial or energy environments
- Demonstrated experience across detailed engineering (EPC phase), commissioning, and operations support
- Track record of leading large-scale control system design and implementation
- Experience in safety system design including safety instrumented functions (SIF) and SIL verification
- Familiarity with international engineering standards and regulatory frameworks
