Senior Electrical Engineer – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Our client is a Singapore-based energy technology company specialising in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), hybrid power systems and intelligent power management solutions.

Working Days: Monday – Friday
Working Hours: 8:00am – 5:30pm
Location: Jurong area

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the on-site installation and deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Coordinate with internal teams, customers, contractors and other stakeholders during project implementation.
• Carry out system commissioning, site testing and system integration activities.
• Install and configure electrical distribution equipment and integrate systems with diesel generators where required.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot electrical and system-related issues.
• Conduct electrical diagnostics, root cause analysis and data analysis to support system optimisation.
• Ensure installations and project activities comply with safety requirements, electrical codes and relevant regulations.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, testing records and project reports.
• Provide basic system operation and troubleshooting guidance to customers and project partners.
• Work closely with engineering and product development teams to provide technical feedback from project sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation and commissioning, preferably in energy storage, solar or generator systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel generators, electrical distribution systems, inverters and power electronics.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and energy storage safety practices.
• Hands-on experience in BESS installation, commissioning, site testing, troubleshooting and system integration.
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams.
• Proficient in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers and clamp meters.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to work independently at project sites and manage on-site technical issues effectively.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willing to travel to regional project sites as required.
