Cost Manager

Responsible for supporting and managing project cost management activities, including cost planning, estimating, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, change management, invoice review, commercial reporting, risk management, contract administration, and project close-out. Work closely with clients, project managers, consultants, contractors, and design teams to monitor project costs and provide commercial recommendations.

Depending on experience level, responsibilities may include preparing cost estimates and reports, maintaining change and invoice logs, conducting measurement and pricing research, assessing cost impacts, managing commercial risks, leading cost planning and forecasting, overseeing change control and contract administration, and providing strategic commercial advice.

The role may also involve reviewing cost management deliverables, coaching junior team members, leading cost management activities for major projects, establishing cost controls and governance, and supporting commercial negotiations and final accounts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Cost Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2–10+ years of relevant cost management experience, depending on seniority.
• Experience in project cost planning, estimating, forecasting, cost control, change management, invoice review, and commercial reporting.
• Knowledge of contract administration, commercial risk management, value engineering, and project close-out.
• Strong numerical, analytical, commercial, and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and/or lead cost management teams depending on experience level.
