Staff Nurse, Residential Care

The Staff Nurse is responsible to ensure personalized, and cost-effective care is provided by nursing staff to residents in accordance with established policies and procedures, standards of nursing care and practices. Responsible for the effective and efficient running of the ward/department assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Complies with approved standards of nursing practices
• Provides nursing services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skills
• Works closely with resident's doctor and multidisciplinary team to provide care to the residents
• Updates on changes in resident's conditions and needs
• Ensures care delivery and nursing interventions as outlined in the care plan
• Evaluates the resident's response to care interventions and recommends revision of care plan as necessary
• Works with Allied Health professionals and/or initiates preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures
• Carries out and supervises assessments of new admissions
• Prepares and administers medications to residents and comply with safe medication practices
• Responsible for safe keeping of control drugs
• Manages any emergency that arises and ensures prompt actions to mitigate the situation and escalate promptly to supervisor, where necessary
• Works with staff to maintain a safe and clean environment in the nursing home
• Participates in internal nursing documentation audits

Qualifications and Requirements

• Locally Trained Registered Nurse with Advanced Diploma in Nursing/Bachelor's degree in Nursing ver. August 2020
• Foreign Trained Registered Nurse with Degree or Diploma in Nursing with Board Pass (Professional Regulation Council, PRC)
• Registration with Singapore Nursing Board
