Purchasing Executive (Fire Protection)

Job Summary

Reporting to the HOD – Purchasing Department, you will manage supplier relationships, optimize purchasing processes, and ensure timely, compliant procurement to support cost-effective fire protection projects.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate new suppliers and subcontractors to secure high-quality materials and services at competitive prices
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms to maximize value and maintain strong vendor partnerships
• Analyze material and tool quotes to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve purchasing strategies
• Issue purchase orders accurately and coordinate timely deliveries to meet project schedules
• Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply without excess stock
• Track and monitor spending against project budgets to support financial control
• Ensure all purchasing documentation complies with ISO standards and supports internal audit requirements
• Prepare procurement reports for management to inform decision-making and project oversight

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in construction or engineering
• Proficient negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills demonstrated through successful supplier engagements
• Detail-oriented with analytical skills applied to cost comparison and forecasting
• Familiarity with ISO documentation standards, inventory control processes, and building/construction purchasing requirements

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Relevant purchasing or procurement certifications are advantageous but not mandatory
