Role Summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and continuously improving enterprise DevSecOps platforms, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and cloud-native application delivery capabilities. The role supports development teams by enabling secure, reliable, and scalable software delivery across multiple application portfolios and environments. The engineer works closely with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Developers, Test Engineers, Security Teams, and Operations Teams to standardize software delivery practices and improve deployment efficiency, governance, and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps Platform Engineering

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application delivery.
  • Implement deployment automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
  • Support enterprise DevOps tooling and platform services.
  • Maintain reusable deployment templates and shared DevOps components.

Release & Deployment Management

  • Support application releases across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
  • Automate deployment processes and rollback mechanisms.
  • Troubleshoot deployment issues and coordinate production implementations.
  • Support change and release management activities.

Cloud & Container Operations

  • Build and maintain containerized application deployment pipelines.
  • Support Kubernetes/OpenShift-based application platforms.
  • Manage application configuration, secrets, and deployment artifacts.
  • Implement environment provisioning and platform automation.

DevSecOps & Security Integration

  • Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support code quality, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks.
  • Promote shift-left security practices and automation.
  • Assist teams in remediation of security findings.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop scripts and automation tools to reduce manual operational effort.
  • Standardize delivery workflows across projects.
  • Improve deployment reliability, consistency, and auditability.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps best practices and engineering standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with Development, Testing, Security, Infrastructure, and Operations teams.
  • Provide technical guidance on DevOps implementation approaches.
  • Support incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and operational readiness activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • At least 7 years of experience in DevOps, with strong hands-on experience in CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containerization and automation.
  • Hands-on experience in GitLab CI/CD, source code management and release management.
  • Experience in Jira and Confluence administration, with the ability to support development and operational workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud and container technologies, including Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift and AWS services such as EC2, Security Groups and S3.
  • Experience in infrastructure automation and configuration management using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting and Python for automation and operational support.
  • Familiarity with software quality and security tools, including SonarQube, Nexus Repository/Nexus IQ and vulnerability management practices.
  • Experience applying DevSecOps practices to support secure and compliant software delivery.
  • Hands-on experience in production support, incident management, deployment support and troubleshooting, including root cause analysis.
  • Ability to support operational readiness and production releases, ensuring deployments are reliable, repeatable and well-coordinated.
  • Proven experience in designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment success rates and reduce manual operational effort.
  • Experience developing standardized deployment frameworks and automated processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Experience working in enterprise DevOps/platform engineering environments, particularly with containerized and cloud-native applications.
  • Exposure to regulated environments, with an understanding of operational governance, compliance and secure software delivery.
  • Strong experience in production release management and operational support, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement.
