Responsibilities
As an Account Manager responsible for Special Risks, you will support the servicing and placement of Special Risks insurance business across Asia, analyse risk exposures, structure insurance solutions, negotiate placements with insurers, and provide technical support to clients and internalstakeholders. Working closely with the CR Asia broking team and the Group's Special Risks team based in Italy, you will contribute to the delivery of tailored insurance solutions and the development of specialist expertise within the organisation.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers and business partners.
- Assess client risk exposures and recommend suitable insurance solutions.
- Structure, negotiate and place insurance programmes on behalf ofclients.
- Provide technical guidance on insurance coverage, policy wordings andmarket solutions.
- Work closely with the Broking Department to support Special Risksopportunities arising from existing client relationships and businessactivities.
- Prepare market submissions, renewal strategies and placement presentations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and international colleagues to support client servicing and placement activities.
- Monitor developments within insurance markets and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement of broking operations, workflows and documentation standards.
- Participate in technical training, knowledge-sharing initiatives and market engagement activities organised by the Group's Special Risks team.
- Perform ad-hoc duties or tasks as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Diploma and/or Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, Finance, Law or related disciplines.
- Professional insurance qualifications such as BCP, CGI, ACII, ANZIIF orequivalent will be advantageous.
- Experience gained through insurance broking, underwriting, claims, riskmanagement or specialist insurance functions will be considered.
- Demonstrated capability in Property, Casualty or Financial Lines insurance will be considered more important than years of experience alone.
- Exposure to regional or international insurance markets will be advantageous.
- Experience within marine insurance, specialty insurance or commercial insurance environments will be advantageous but is not essential.
Skills & Competencies
- Sound technical knowledge and practical capability in at least one of the following core disciplines: Property Insurance, Casualty Insurance, or Financial Lines Insurance.
- Knowledge or exposure to Marine Liability, Surety, Trade Credit, Political Risks or Energy Insurance will be advantageous.
- Ability to analyse complex client risk exposures and determine suitable insurance solutions.
- Ability to structure, negotiate and place insurance programmes with insurers and underwriters.
- Strong understanding of insurance policy wordings, coverage interpretation and market practices.
- Ability to provide professional advice and guidance on insurance-related matters to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong ability to support client servicing activities and identify appropriate insurance solutions to address client needs.
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to build and sustain strong relationships with clients, insurers and business partners.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills when liaising with clients, insurers and underwriters.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage client servicing, placement and policy administration activities independently while delivering high levels of service.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound commercial judgement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and international stakeholders across different markets and time zones.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong organisational discipline to manage workflows, documentation, regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.
- High sense of responsibility, confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive, proactive attitude with adaptability and acontinuous-improvement mindset.
- Willingness and ability to develop expertise across additional Special Risks classes of business.
- Willingness and ability to undertake international travel, including an extended training and onboarding placement with the Group's Special Risks team in Genoa, Italy, during the initial period of employment.
- Willingness to participate in structured technical training, knowledge transfer and market familiarisation activities under the guidance of the Group's Special Risks team.
- Ability to work effectively with international colleagues across different cultures, jurisdictions and time zones.
