Role Overview

As a senior technical business analyst for Velocity Trade, you are the go-toexpert for systems and global Securities integrations. You enjoy the details as well as the components of trading and mappings from order management, trading and middle-office to post-trade reporting. You work with our API library and FIX integrations, whether it’s assisting new clients with setup, designing and building new features or validating releases. Ideal if you have 4-5+ years’ experience in an analyst, development or similar product role such as an IT business analyst or developer within the financial industry with responsibility of trading systems.

This role has a primary responsibility to enhance Velocity’s global trading offerings and services through strong product knowledge and integration tools. Learning from users and clients, gathering requirements while providing ongoing management for all trading system related features, modules, and functions. This role has a specific focus on trading and operations teams for global execution, working closely with other analysts globally, VT trading and ops teams, 3rd party teams, and the IT as well as compliance teams.

Client needs analysis

• Possess a deep understanding of the global Securities business, its customers and their needs.
• Data capture management E2E, intake, trading, operational process, through to post-trade functions.
• Being the technical owner, formulating rules, designs and parameters with respect to system enhancements, new integrations, modules and new features (as required by business and/or external clients).
• Investigate and support new issues and queries for automation, efficiencies and scalability through to delivery.

Trading and systems management

• Ability to act as the subject matter technical expert in functions such as order management, trading systems, order routing, market data, instruments, execution, settlement, modelling, reporting, data management and integrations.
• Lead design improvements, fixes and new features projects with cross-functional leadership and an automation mindset.
• Provide training and mentoring to internal teams and hand-offs when necessary.

Manage development and third-party partners / vendor integrations

• Manage the scoping, design and development process and provide the client usability and efficiency perspective during the implementation process.
• Testing and validation as required.
• Providecross-functional direction and input to all teams regarding the solution throughout the process.
• Reviewing all enhancements to ensure accuracy and stability within the system and full solutions offering.

Creating specifications

• Articulate rules, parameters and requirements pertaining to Velocity systems.
• Define and document business requirements, configure technical specifications for the development team to utilize effectively.
• Create training material (both internal and external) on new/existing features and distribute to all stakeholders.

Support APAC Region

• Provide management and support for the VT Asia-Pacific global securities team.
• Monitor systems, alert teams and address issues to solutions.
• Address process gaps and optimize and automate tasks as required.

Ad hoc tasks

• Effectively liaise with other VT offices within the group.
• To perform any other duties as required by the business.

Project management

• Independently run small projects, resourcing tasks and communicating progress at a sprint level.
• Manage issues with appropriate levels of urgency for all stakeholders, escalating to management when necessary.
