Job Summary

Join a well-established Metal Works company as a Quantity Surveyor to prepare cost estimates, manage project budgets, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure commercial success of construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quotations, cost estimates, and tender submissions for Metal Works projects to support business growth
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs and measurements from construction drawings and specifications to inform cost planning
• Obtain, assess, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality
• Monitor and control project costs and budgets to maintain financial targets and profitability
• Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts to facilitate timely project payments and contract closure
• Review project drawings, contracts, and scope of works to identify and evaluate cost implications and risks
• Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams on commercial and contractual matters to ensure alignment
• Maintain accurate records and provide comprehensive support on tendering and other quantity surveying activities to enhance project delivery

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience in Metal Works, Steel Works, or Structural Steel projects
• Basic knowledge of quantity surveying procedures, cost estimation, and contract administration
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
