Job description

Google's in-house tax team knows all things corporate tax. Made up of smart, perceptive Googlers with a flair for domestic and international taxes, the knowledge and expertise of this team runs deep. You have years of experience in this field and an extensive knowledge of those tax issues most relevant to internet companies. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

As a Tax Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in providing end-to-end support to the senior member of the APAC Tax team. In your daily work, you will be responsible to support tax optimization, controversy, research, and cross-functional projects for the APAC countries. You will collaborate closely with tax experts, finance leaders, and various business units and will help resolve complex tax positions, support audit requests, and ensure the timely and accurate resolution of tax audits. Your work will directly contribute to optimizing efficiency and establishing policies that minimize the company's tax exposure.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, timelines, and changing circumstances.
  • Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies, improving quality, and reducing cycle time.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of organizational compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Build and maintain effective teams, and support them throughout the lifecycle of projects.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in tax.

Preferred qualifications

  • MBA or MSA.
  • Experience with tax policy analysis, including the evaluation of economic development incentives and fiscal impact modeling.
  • Experience in applicable tax matters, tax laws, and tax attributes.
  • Experience in technology and data analytics tools.
  • Excellent project management, tax research, and communication skills.
