Mechanical Technician

ShaftRise Engineering & Services Pte Ltd is a service provider in marine and industrial repair and precision services. We are seeking a motivated individual to join us as a Mechanical Technician. This is a hands-on role where you will develop expertise in critical precision measurement and alignment techniques using advanced laser technologies. Under the guidance of senior technicians and surveyors, you will learn how to ensure that industrial equipment and structures meet precise dimensional specifications and operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-On Equipment Alignment: Learn and apply cutting-edge laser alignment technologies to align precision rotating machinery (pumps, motors, engines, gearboxes) and marine systems.
• Dimensional Control & Inspection: Collaborate with senior surveyors to perform field dimensional control surveys, fit-up inspections, and as-built assessments on structural and piping components.
• Data Processing & Reporting: Capture survey data and work with CAD/3D software to generate detailed reports and technical documentation for client submission.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, calibrate, and ensure optimal performance of specialized precision measuring tools and instruments.
• Cross-Functional Teamwork: Partner with project engineers, construction teams, and clients to ensure alignment with job specifications and site safety protocols..

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Nitec, Higher Nitec, Diploma, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline (Entry-level candidates and fresh graduates are welcome).
• Skills & Aptitude: Strong spatial awareness, basic familiarity with engineering drawings or CAD concepts, and a keen attention to detail.
• Growth Mindset: High willingness to learn advanced surveying technologies and adapt to dynamic site environments; full on-the-job training will be provided.
• Work Requirements: Physically fit for field operations across industrial and marine environments, with good basic communication skills for effective team coordination.
