About this job

About the role

We are hiring a successor, not an assistant.

Homeone runs six separately licensed entities across gas, water heater, electrical, plumbing and aircon works, under PUB, EMA, BCA, HDB and SP PowerGrid licensing. Compliance is not our paperwork department — it is the reason customers choose us, and the reason we can price the way we do.

The manager who built that function is moving on to assist in an overseas expansion. We are looking for the person who takes it over.

Two things define this job. First, nothing closes on assumption — every technician’s job report is read and verified before the work is signed off.Second, you are the call the field makes when a job does not go to plan. Both require someone who has done the work, not someone who can administer a checklist.

What you will do

1. Own compliance operations end to end.

Licensing conditions, statutory documentation, submission discipline, and the audit trail behind every completed job. You hold the standard, and you are accountable for it.

2. Verify every technician report before the job is closed.

Read each report against what the job actually required — correct materials, correct method, correct isolation and testing, correct documentation. You authorise it to proceed, or you send it back with the clause it failed. This is the core of the role.

3. Answer technicians on work execution, in realtime.

Our teams work on live sites. When a technician finds an existing installation that does not match the survey, a pipe run that cannot be done as planned, or an HDB or tenancy constraint on the spot, you are who they call. Your answer needs to be right, and it needs to be quick.

4. Be fluent across the full Homeone scope of work.

Storage and instantaneous water heaters, gas piping and appliance connection, and the associated electrical and plumbing works. If you arrive fluent in part of this,we will train you across the balance within three months. After that, you answer without escalating.

5. Build the field team.

You will have a direct hand in who joins the field team and how they are brought up to standard.

The codes this role works to

This role is governed by published standards, not house habit. You will be expected to work from the current editions and to cite them when you return a job report:

SS 608:2024 — Code of practice for gas installation

SS 638:2018 — Code of practice for electrical installations

SS 636:2018 (+A4:2021) — Code of practice for water services

City Energy, Handbook on Gas Supply (Dec 2021)

WSH Code of Practice for Working Safely at Heights(2nd revision, 2013)

You do not need all five memorised on day one. You do need to be the kind of person who opens the code rather than relying on how it has always been done.

Requirements

A trade background is non-negotiable. You must have worked the tools yourself, or held direct technical supervision over people who do. We are not looking for someone who can run a compliance checklist — we are looking for someone who can read a technician’s report and know, from experience, whether it is true.

• Hands-on background in gas, water heater, plumbing or electrical installation and servicing, or direct supervisory experience over such works

• A relevant licence or certification — Licensed Gas Service Worker, Licensed Water Service Plumber, Licensed Electrical Worker or equivalent — is a strong advantage. Where you hold part of the set, we will support you in obtaining the rest

• Demonstrated judgement on site: able to decide, not only to escalate

• Working proficiency in written and spoken English. All technician reporting, job instruction and statutory documentation runs in English

• Comfortable working inside structured systems — job records, CRM, written procedure — and expected to improve them

• Contactable during operating hours for field escalation

Not required: a degree, or a prior compliance job title. We have promoted a delivery driver into the Compliance Manager seat before. What we assess is judgement, and honesty about the limits of your own knowledge.

What we offer

SGD 5,000 – 6,500 per month, reviewed on capability rather than tenure

• A defined succession path — you inherit a function, you do not assist one

• Structured three-month cross-training across the full scope of works

• Sponsorship and support towards additional trade licences

• A company where the compliance standard is the business model, not an overhead. You will never be asked to sign off work you are not satisfied with

How to apply

Apply through My CareersFuture with your CV, stating the licences and certifications you currently hold and the trades you have worked in directly.

Shortlisted candidates will sit a short practical assessment: you will be given real technician job reports and asked which you would pass, which you would return, and why.
