About this job

The Asian Centre for Digital Cultures (ACDC) at CoHASS, NTU, invites applications for a Research Associate to contribute to interdisciplinary research on digital cultures, platforms, technology, and social transformation in Asia. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, delivery, and dissemination of research projects, while supporting the Centre’s academic programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the centre director, deputy directors, and admin coordinator with daily operations including scheduling meetings, managing project timelines, and organising academic events

  • Assist principal investigators in conducting literature reviews, gathering qualitative / quantitative / computational data, and drafting academic outputs

  • Collect, clean, and organise primary and secondary datasets, performing preliminary data analysis to support centre projects

  • Prepare research reports, policy briefs, presentation materials, and draft manuscripts for academic journal submissions

  • Assist in preparing research grant proposals, tracking project deliverables, and drafting progress reports for funding agencies

  • Serve as a point of contact for internal NTU stakeholders, external international collaborators, visiting scholars, and research partners

  • Other duties, appropriate to this classification, as directed

Job Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in social sciences, digital humanities, media and communication studies, cultural studies, sociology, or a closely related field

  • Track record in conducting academic research with proficiency in research methods, data analysis, and digital research

  • Strong project management, time management, and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail in handling administrative procedures

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience drafting academic report or administrative documentation

  • Good ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment

  • Research interest in Asian digital cultures, technology and social transformation, platform economies, or heritage cultures in Asia.
