Project Management Team Lead

The opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy as a Project Management Team Lead and play a critical role in driving successful project delivery, operational excellence, and business growth. In this leadership position, you will oversee a portfolio of projects, lead and develop a team of Project Managers, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably while meeting customer expectations.

You will serve as a trusted partner to customers, business leaders, and cross-functional teams, driving performance, governance, and continuous improvement across the project organization.

How you'll make an impact

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers and project professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, safety, and high performance.
• Manage and oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring successful execution, resource optimization, risk management, and achievement of business objectives.
• Drive project delivery excellence by ensuring projects are completed according to contractual commitments, quality standards, budget targets, and planned schedules.
• Establish and maintain effective project governance, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
• Monitor project performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement lessons learned to strengthen execution capabilities and operational efficiency.
• Partner with business stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation activities.
• Support revenue growth by building strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to commercial success within the market.
• Oversee financial performance across the project portfolio, including profitability, cash flow, forecasting accuracy, and risk mitigation.
• Ensure effective contract, claims, procurement, and commercial management practices are consistently applied throughout project execution.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex project and customer issues, driving timely resolution and fostering long-term customer satisfaction.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and sustainable growth aligned with Hitachi Energy's strategy and values.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading project teams and managing complex project portfolios within engineering, energy, industrial, infrastructure, automation, or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance, risk management, contract management, and financial controls.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong commercial and business acumen with experience driving operational performance and profitability.
• Experience managing customer relationships and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed, and multicultural organization.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
