Network Engineer (ServiceNow ESM)

About the Role

We are looking for a delivery-focused Network Engineer to support the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) onboarding program onto ServiceNow. You will drive network discovery, configuration item (CI) validation, and the seamless onboarding of an estate of over 450 network devices, ensuring reliable data underpins our operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute network discovery across a 450+ device estate using ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.
• Validate, reconcile, and remediate CMDB configuration item (CI) data and relationships for network assets.
• Onboard network infrastructure and dependencies into ServiceNow with accurate mappings and attributes.
• Define, configure, and refine discovery patterns, probes, and credentials to ensure repeatable network discovery.
• Troubleshoot discovery gaps and data-quality issues proactively.
• Document onboarding workflows, discovery configurations, and CMDB data standards for seamless handover to operations.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering or operations, with practical exposure to IT Service Management (ITSM) and CMDB.
• Demonstrated working experience in ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.
• Solid understanding of CMDB data models, CI relationship mapping, and data-quality governance.
• Strong networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls) to interpret discovered network topologies.
• Practical scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell) for data reconciliation is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and written/verbal communication skills to coordinate across multi-vendor environments.
