Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to support the Accountant in maintaining a full set of accounts and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
The role covers billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, fixed assets, reconciliations, revenue recognition, and month-end and year-end closing. The successful candidate will also support finance-related projects, process improvements, and system implementation and testing.
Key Responsibilities
Handle day-to-day accounting functions, including billing, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), general ledger (GL), account reconciliations, and revenue recognition.
Assist in maintaining a full set of accounts and proper accounting records.
Prepare trial balances, financial reports, and supporting schedules.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing and financial reporting.
Prepare GST reports and perform GST reconciliations.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including maintaining the fixed asset register and ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation.
Prepare and submit claims to government agencies and other grant providers.
Ensure compliance with statutory and internal finance, tax, audit, filing, and reporting requirements.
Liaise with internal stakeholders and provide relevant financial information and analysis when required.
Liaise with external parties, including auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
Assist with the implementation and improvement of accounting processes, systems, and internal controls.
Participate in finance system implementation, testing, and related projects as required.
Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned.
Requirements
Degree in Accountancy, ACCA qualification, or equivalent professional qualification.
At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with experience handling a full set of accounts.
Strong working knowledge of SAP Business One (SAP B1), with experience in system implementation or related projects preferred.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Good understanding of accounting principles, GST, financial reporting, and statutory requirements.
Detail-oriented and meticulous, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidates who are able to commence work immediately or within a short notice period will have an added advantage.

Salary: $5,500–$6,500 per month
