About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Assistant Finance Manager to join our Group Finance team in Singapore.
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, the successful candidate will support the financial management, reporting and consolidation of our regional operations. This role is suited to someone who is comfortable working across multiple entities and countries, enjoys getting into the details, and can also provide meaningful financial analysis to management.
The position offers broad exposure to group reporting, consolidation, audit, budgeting, internal controls, treasury and finance transformation within an international manufacturing and trading group.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly Group management accounts and consolidation, ensuring accuracy and timely submission by subsidiaries.
- Review financial results of subsidiaries and provide variance analysis and management commentary on revenue, gross profit, operating expenses, working capital and profitability.
- Assist in preparing annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with applicable Singapore Financial Reporting Standards.
- Coordinate with finance teams across the Group to ensure consistent accounting policies, reporting standards and month-end closing procedures.
- Support the annual statutory audit and Group audit, including coordination with external auditors and overseas finance teams.
- Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including consolidation of country budgets and comparison of actual results against budget.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany balances and related-party transactions.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, receivables, inventory and intercompany funding across the Group.
- Strengthen accounting procedures, financial controls and reporting processes.
- Support the Group CFO on financial analysis, business cases, investment evaluations and other strategic projects.
- Assist with treasury, banking, tax and corporate-finance matters where required.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders including auditors, tax advisers, banks and professional advisers.
- Support continuous improvements in the Group's ERP, financial reporting and consolidation processes.
- Provide guidance and support to accounting and finance personnel within the Group.
- Undertake ad-hoc financial projects and assignments as required by the Group CFO.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent would be an advantage.
- At least 6 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably including regional or group-level responsibilities.
- Strong practical experience in financial reporting, consolidation, audit and management accounting.
- Good understanding of SFRS/IFRS and financial accounting principles.
- Experience working in a multi-entity or multinational organisation is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing, distribution or trading environment would be an advantage.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using an ERP/accounting system. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and explain financial results clearly.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different countries and cultures.
- Independent, organised and able to manage multiple deadlines.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented and willing to take ownership of assignments.
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who combine strong accounting fundamentals with commercial awareness. The successful candidate should be comfortable reviewing detailed accounts while also being able to step back and explain what is driving the numbers and what management should pay attention to.
This position provides significant exposure to the Group CFO and senior management and is suitable for a finance professional looking to progress toward a broader Finance Manager / Group Finance Manager role.
