We are looking for a research fellow to carry out R&D activities on the research directions of developing precursors to be converted into ceramic materials in different formfactors such as solid films and porous materials. The role will focus on developing the precursor formulation, conversion process into porous ceramic materials, characterizations of relevant precursors and ceramic composite, and explore various possible applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop precursor formulations to be converted into porous ceramic materials for suitable applications
Conduct research and development activities on preparation of porous ceramic materials, including formulation of problem statement, execution of lab-scale and pilot-scale experiments/operations, sample characterizations, data analysis, and so on.
Prepare technical reports, intellectual properties documents, safety documents, and academic publications
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
Strong research experience on relevant topics on material science, chemical engineering, and green technologies preferred for this relatively short-team project
Proficiency in hands-on and characterization techniques such as DSC, FTIR, DMA, rheology, mechanical testing etc.
Industrial-relevant experience in scalability and productization is favorable. Knowledge on LCA and TEA is an advantage.
Good team-player, good communication skills, problem solver, thinker and doer, able to exhibit leadership when needed
Good wet laboratory practice and familiar with considerations on laboratory safety.
