RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you passionate about energy markets, commercial strategy, and data-driven decision-making? We are seeking a motivated and analytical Analyst (Gas Management) to join our Gas Management team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to Singapore's gas and power markets, LNG procurement, portfolio optimization, regulatory developments, and energy market analytics. You will work closely with experienced industry professionals and play an integral role in supporting both day-to-day gas operations and strategic commercial initiatives within a dynamic and evolving energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Gas Operations (Shift Duties Including Overnight and Weekend Coverage)

  • Manage daily gas operations, including transportation capacity booking and gas nominations through the Gas Transportation IT System (GTSS).
  • Monitor gas supply positions and transportation arrangements to ensure reliable fuel availability for power generation.
  • Develop and implement gas nomination strategies that optimize portfolio value while ensuring operational compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support efficient and seamless gas operations.

Commercial and Portfolio Management

  • Ensure compliance with the Gas Network Code (GNC), Gas Supply Agreements (GSAs), and other relevant contractual obligations.
  • Support gas portfolio optimization activities and short-term commercial strategies.
  • Monitor developments in gas, LNG, and electricity markets, including price trends, supply-demand fundamentals, regulatory changes, and competitor activities.
  • Prepare regular management reports, market updates, and commercial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Assist in contract administration, settlement verification, and commercial performance reporting.

Market Analysis and Forecasting

  • Analyse regulatory developments and assess their operational, commercial, and financial implications.
  • Forecast gas demand and fuel requirements for power generation using quantitative models and market intelligence.
  • Enhance forecasting methodologies and analytical tools to improve accuracy and decision support.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify market opportunities, operational risks, and portfolio optimization initiatives.
  • Support strategic studies related to fuel procurement, energy market developments, and business growth opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Energy Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Interest in energy markets, LNG, natural gas, electricity markets, trading, or commercial operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools; knowledge of Python, VBA, Power BI, SQL, or other analytical tools will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Prior experience in energy, utilities, trading, operations, analytics, or related fields is advantageous but not required.
