Digital Business Analyst (Contract Role)

We are looking for an experienced Digital Business Analyst to support digital transformation and technology initiatives for a large organisation. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, product/project teams, solution architects and technical teams to identify user needs, define solutions and deliver meaningful digital outcomes.

The successful candidate should be comfortable operating in an Agile environment and be able to bridge business requirements with technology solutions. You will also have opportunities to support and enhance existing enterprise systems throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand business and user needs, identify pain points and translate them into clear business and technology requirements.

- Conduct stakeholder discussions, workshops and discovery sessions to understand problems and define potential solutions.

- Apply product thinking, Design Thinking and/or Service Design approaches to identify opportunities and improve user experiences.

- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional requirements and other relevant documentation.

- Work closely with product managers, project managers, solution architects, developers and other technical teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

- Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, prioritisation and iterative solution development.

- Evaluate potential technology solutions and provide recommendations based on business needs, scalability, sustainability and feasibility.

- Support the enhancement and ongoing management of existing enterprise systems, including issue resolution and continuous improvement.

- Liaise with vendors, technology partners and support teams to investigate and resolve system-related issues.

- Gather and analyse user feedback, system performance and operational information to identify opportunities for improvement.

- Support solution testing, implementation and user adoption activities.

- Ensure proposed solutions comply with relevant technology, security, governance and operational requirements.

- Communicate findings, recommendations and proposed solutions effectively to both business and technical stakeholders.

Requirements

- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis, Digital Business Analysis, Product Ownership or a similar technology/product-focused role.

- Strong experience in requirements gathering, user discovery, process analysis and translating business needs into technology solutions.

- Demonstrated experience working in Agile/Scrum or other iterative product development environments.

- Strong understanding of product thinking and experience using user-centric approaches to solve complex business problems.

- Experience working with enterprise applications or systems, including system enhancements, issue resolution and ongoing operational support.

- Experience working with vendors, technical teams and multiple stakeholder groups.

- Strong analytical, facilitation, problem-solving and communication skills.

- Ability to articulate and present ideas, recommendations and solutions effectively to stakeholders.

- Familiarity with modern digital technologies and AI tools/concepts would be an advantage.

- Experience in public sector or government-related technology projects is preferred.
