Job Description
We are seeking a responsible and organised Mechanical Technician to support the day-to-day operations of our scaffolding, construction and engineering projects. This full-time role involves coordinating scaffolding materials, manpower and transportation requirements, maintaining proper store and material records, and providing operational and technical support to the office and project teams.
The successful candidate will work closely with supervisors, workers, drivers and project personnel to ensure that manpower, materials and equipment are deployed efficiently and that project requirements are supported in a timely manner.
Key Roles& Responsibilities
- Manage the issuance, return, storage and movement of scaffolding materials, tools and equipment, and maintain accurate stock records
- Maintain the scaffolding store in an organised and safe manner, including checking returned materials for shortages, damage or discrepancies
- Prepare and arrange materials, tools and equipment according to project and site requirements
- Coordinate manpower deployment, workers’ schedules, drivers and transportation arrangements to support daily site operations
- Liaise with site supervisors, project personnel, workers and drivers to ensure timely delivery, collection and deployment of manpower and materials
- Support the office technician with technical, project and operational matters, including preparation and maintenance of relevant records and documentation
- Assist with basic checking and upkeep of scaffolding-related tools and equipment and report defects or maintenance requirements where necessary
- Ensure materials, equipment andoperational activities are handled in accordance with company procedures andrelevant workplace safety requirements
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in construction, scaffolding, engineering, store operations or logistics preferred
- Familiarity with scaffolding materials, construction equipment and site operations would be an advantage
- Able to coordinate manpower, drivers, materials and transportation requirements effectively
- Good organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate stock and operational records
- Basic understanding of mechanical tools, equipment and maintenance would be advantageous
- Good communication and coordination skills with workers, drivers, supervisors and office personnel
- Responsible, detail-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment
