HAIRSTYLIST

Job Summary

You will consult with clients on hair styling and care, perform shampooing, cutting, coloring, and scalp treatments, sell hair care products, manage bookings, and maintain salon safety and cleanliness to ensure client satisfaction and repeat visits.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to understand their hair styling preferences and recommend suitable options
• Explain the benefits of various hair care products to clients to support informed choices
• Perform shampooing, cutting, coloring, and highlighting to achieve desired hairstyles
• Conduct scalp treatments to maintain client scalp health
• Sell hair care retail products to clients to enhance their hair care routine
• Build and maintain personal relationships with clients to encourage return visits
• Adhere to salon safety and cleanliness standards to provide a safe environment
• Manage client bookings and welcome clients upon arrival
• Stay updated on current hairstyle trends and styling techniques
• Assist senior hairdressers with hairdressing tasks as needed

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Previous experience as a hair stylist or colorist
• Skilled in a wide range of styling and coloring techniques
• Proficient in using hot irons, curlers, and blow-dryers
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage clients effectively
• Good verbal communication skills for clear client interactions
• Physical stamina to perform hairdressing tasks throughout the day
• Creative mindset with a good eye for design to deliver appealing styles
• Availability to work on weekends and public holidays
• Experience in hair colouring, shampooing, and hair blowing
• Ability to start immediately
