Head of Martech & Growth
About this job
About the Job
Great Eastern is advancing how it engages customers regionally, using marketing technology, customer data, personalisation and AIto create deeper engagement and drive measurable growth. We are strengthening capabilities across our MarTech ecosystem, with further work underway to connect and scale them across markets and entities.
As Head of MarTech & Growth, you will own how this agenda evolves and translates into sustained commercial impact. You will connect marketing, data and technology, improve performance across the customer funnel and turn new capabilities into repeatable practices that scale across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
· Own and continuously evolve the multi-year MarTech and Growth direction, translating the roadmap into capability priorities, investment choices and measurable contribution to customer acquisition, conversion, customer value and retention.
· Lead performance marketing and AdTech, shaping how paid media, first-party data and audiences, targeting and optimisation generate quality demand and improve acquisition economics.
· Improve full-funnel throughput across digital and assisted channels, connecting acquisition, nurturing, lead prioritisation, routing and follow-through to reduce drop-off and improve progression from consideration to conversion.
· Lead customer engagement and personalisation, evolving from campaign-led activity towards continuous, lifecycle-based engagement that uses customer signals and context to improve relevance across digital, advisor and partner touchpoints.
· Shape how the MarTech stack evolves and is used, connecting customer data and identity, marketing automation, content, analytics, experimentation and activation into an effective system while working with Technology and Data & AI on the underlying architecture and intelligence.
· Establish a closed-loop performance discipline, connecting marketing activity to downstream outcomes through measurement, attribution, incrementality and experimentation, and using those insights to improve journeys and reallocate investment.
· Shape the application of AI across marketing and customer engagement, identifying where emerging capabilities can improve targeting, content, customer interaction and marketing operations, and moving proven applications into scaled use with Data & AI and Technology teams.
· Industrialise and scale proven capabilities, codifying them into reusable playbooks, templates, standards and operating practices, developing the specialist capability required to sustain them and extending what works across channels, markets and entities within appropriate customer, brand and regulatory guardrails.
We are looking for people who
· Bring strong commercial acumen, connecting marketing investment and activity to growth economics, customer value and return, and using that understanding to make disciplined choices on priorities and investment.
· Read the MarTech stack as an enterprise architecture rather than a collection of tools, understanding how customer data and identity, CDP, CRM, marketing automation, CMS/DXP, analytics, experimentation and AdTech connect from signal through activation to measurement. Bring deep experience working across enterprise MarTech ecosystems and the technical fluency to make informed choices across the stack.
· Have built and scaled connected digital marketing capabilities incomplex organisations, with a clear understanding of the choices involved in integrating platforms, data, channels and operating processes and when to build, buy, reuse or retire capabilities.
· Understand the mechanics of end-to-end growth, including funnel throughput, lead management, assisted hand-offs, lifecycle engagement and the interaction between direct digital and distribution.
· Are highly evidence-led, comfortable making decisions using experimentation, incrementality, attribution and performance analytics, including where measurement is directional rather than perfect.
· Know how to turn innovation into operating capability, moving successful use cases from experimentation into repeatable playbooks, standards and scaled adoption rather than allowing them to remain isolated pilots.
· Can effectively bridge business, marketing, data and technology, translating commercial needs into capability requirements, challenging specialist teams credibly and creating shared accountability without needing to own the underlying enterprise platforms.
Have typically 12+ years of relevant experience across MarTech, growth, digital marketing or customer engagement, with significant leadership experience across specialist teams, partners and multiple markets or business units. Experience in insurance, banking or another regulated consumer business will be advantageous.
