As a Metrology & Periodic Qualification Technician (Electrical & Instrumentation), you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, accuracy and compliance of electrical systems and process instrumentation across the manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for executing preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration and periodic qualification activities to maximize equipment availability while ensuring compliance with cGMP, regulatory requirements and Engineering standards. You will also support the site's digital transformation initiatives by maintaining highly reliable utility and process equipment that enable safe and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities :
Operate, maintain and troubleshoot electrical distribution systems, including HT and LV switchboards, distribution panels, ELV systems and process instrumentation to maximize plant availability.
Perform calibration, periodic qualification, maintenance and repair of process and utility instrumentation to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
Execute preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities in accordance with approved maintenance plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) work orders.
Plan, schedule and complete maintenance activities while ensuring timely closure of work orders and accurate maintenance documentation.
Support commissioning, qualification and handover activities for new facilities, utilities, equipment and electrical systems.
Support engineering projects, plant modifications and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Manage critical spare parts for electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure business continuity.
Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, calibration documentation, technical records and training materials.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with cGMP, GDP, EHS requirements, Engineering Standards and applicable Singapore electrical standards.
Support investigations relating to deviations, CAPAs, maintenance events and equipment failures.
Support internal and external regulatory inspections, including FDA, EMA and HSA audits.
Coordinate and supervise contractors and vendors to ensure maintenance and project activities are completed safely, on schedule and in compliance with quality standards.
Collaborate closely with Automation, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, Digital and Engineering teams to support reliable manufacturing operations and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Promote a Safety First, Quality Always culture while driving continuous improvement across engineering and maintenance activities.
About You :
Experience
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 8 years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance, calibration and metrology within pharmaceutical or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience maintaining HT, LV, ELV systems and process instrumentation.
Experience performing commissioning, qualification and calibration activities for utility and manufacturing equipment.
Experience managing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, deviations, CAPAs and CMMS work orders.
Experience supporting regulatory inspections and audits within cGMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience coordinating contractors and supporting engineering projects.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Electrical & Instrumentation systems, calibration principles and maintenance best practices.
Good understanding of Singapore electrical standards (SS650, SS638) and applicable statutory requirements.
Ability to interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), P&IDs, electrical schematics and instrumentation drawings.
Good knowledge of pharmaceutical utilities, manufacturing equipment and process instrumentation.
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of cGMP, GDP, EHS and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
LEW Grade 7 certification will be an added advantage.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
