About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in electrical distribution systems and switchgear for the Marine & Offshore industry.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB) and Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), together with a solid understanding of marine electrical systems, switchboards, protection systems and power distribution.

This role will be responsible for providing technical engineering support across projects, troubleshooting electrical systems, supporting customers and ensuring equipment complies with applicable marine and offshore standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering support for marine and offshore electrical systems.
• Design, review and troubleshoot electrical distribution and switchgear systems.
• Work with Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB) and Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), including selection, application, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams and technical specifications.
• Support the installation, testing and commissioning of switchboards, circuit breakers and associated protection systems.
• Conduct fault-finding and root-cause analysis of electrical equipment and systems.
• Provide technical assistance to shipyards, shipowners, offshore operators, contractors and customers.
• Coordinate with project, service, sales and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, testing procedures and engineering specifications.
• Liaise with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, classification societies and other technical stakeholders where required.
• Ensure electrical systems comply with relevant marine, offshore, classification and safety requirements.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Provide technical support during vessel and offshore site visits when required.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technical team members.

Key Technical Experience

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of:

• Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB)
• Air Circuit Breakers (ACB)
• LV/MV electrical distribution systems
• Marine and offshore switchboards
• Electrical protection and control systems
• Circuit breaker testing and commissioning
• Electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Protection relays and coordination
• Motor control and distribution systems
• Electrical single-line diagrams and schematics
• Switchgear and power distribution equipment
• Marine electrical installations

Experience with MV/LV switchgear, generator protection, PMS (Power Management Systems) and vessel electrical distribution systems will be highly advantageous.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably within the Marine, Offshore, Shipbuilding or Industrial sector.
• Proven experience working with VCB and ACB systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution, switchgear and protection systems.
• Experience in testing, commissioning and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Good understanding of marine electrical standards and classification requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Willingness to travel to shipyards, vessels and offshore locations when required.
