About the role

We're on the lookout for a Senior Advisor - Market Risk as part of operationalizing and building out the Market Risk Management Framework for Rio Tinto Commercial. The role will work very closely with the Sales & Marketing, Digital and Finance teams.

Reporting to the Manager - Market Risk, you will:

• Perform detailed data analytics to identify and explain risks and P&L drivers.

• Create and report daily mark-to-market based P&L.

• Support implementation of Risk Management Framework around VAR and Stress Test and other analysis applications.

• Work closely with Trading & Sales and Finance teams to report and analyses performance, trading risk positions and Value at Risk on a daily/weekly basis.

• Support due diligence, review and implementation on new transactions and/or trading activities.

• Continuous improvement / streamlining of the reporting processes.

• Active communication with the rest of Market Risk team in Singapore office.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or equivalent.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in physical commodity trading and risk management.

• Good understanding of VAR methodologies and risk measurement.

• Experience of programming/database languages in Python / VBA / SQL / R.

• Good understanding of Product Control and Risk Reporting.

• Good interpersonal skills and a team player.

• Contribute to the creation of trading performance analysis and implement/ operationalize this.

• Be part of transformation efforts to establish certain middle office processes, including with trading, as well as policies, procedures and support the build out the market risk management framework for commercial.
