BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

We are looking for a motivated Business Development Executive to drive new customer acquisition and grow existing accounts within the CA division. You will be the face of Lian Eng to our industrial clients — identifying their operational challenges and recommending conveyor, automation, and material handling solutions that solve real problems.

This role suits someone who enjoys getting out of the office, visiting factories and production floors, and building trusted relationships with engineers, maintenance managers, and procurement teams. Whether you are a fresh graduate eager to learn, or an experienced sales professional looking for a stable platform with strong technical products, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Do

• Prospect and develop new business across target industries (manufacturing, F&B, logistics, marine, facilities)

• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts, ensuring repeat business and upsell opportunities

• Conduct site visits and technical assessments to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate solutions

• Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and technical presentations to clients

• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets set by management

• Collaborate with the engineering and project teams to ensure smooth handover from sales to execution

• Track sales pipeline and customer activity using the company's ERP system (Microsoft Business Central)

• Stay current on market trends, competitor offerings, and new product developments from our principal brands

• Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking sessions to generate leads

• Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management

• Perform any other duties as assigned by management

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

• Minimum ITE, Polytechnic Diploma, or Degree in any discipline

• Engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics) is an advantage but not required

• Non-engineering candidates with strong sales aptitude and willingness to learn technical products are welcome

• Fresh graduates with the right attitude are encouraged to apply — we will train you

Experience

• 0–5 years of sales or business development experience (fresh graduates welcome)

• Prior exposure to industrial equipment, conveyors, automation, robotics, electrical systems, or MRO is a strong plus

• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets preferred for experienced applicants

Skills & Attributes

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable with cold-calling, site visits, and face-to-face selling

• Able to read basic technical specifications or engineering drawings (we will train if needed)

• Problem-solving mindset — you listen to the customer and find the right solution, not just push products

• Good relationship management — our clients value long-term partnerships, not one-off transactions

• Computer literate (Microsoft Office, CRM tools)

• Possess a valid Class 3 driving licence (site visits across Singapore)
