JAPAC Director of Medical Excellence

Job Summary

JAPAC Director of Medical Excellence is a leadership role within the JAPAC regional Medical Affairs organization reporting to the VP & Head of Medical, JAPAC. This role manages strategic initiatives execution, collaborating with global and country Medical Affairs teams, cross-functional colleagues, and external vendors to align medical and business strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Head of JAPAC Medical to refine medical strategy, focus, and resource planning aligned with corporate objectives
• Improve the GwL operating model and ways of working to enhance cross-functional alignment, accountability, and execution efficiency
• Translate scientific knowledge and insights into actionable behaviors through Medical Leadership programs that strengthen leadership capabilities and ensure consistent execution across JAPAC
• Ensure compliance with local and global regulations, processes, and SOPs in all medical activities
• Develop organizational agility to accelerate adoption of advanced AI technologies by coordinating with AIN and global functions for AI tools in field excellence, content generation, and publication
• Co-manage projects with iEGL to organize the CMO council, enhancing the efficiency of AUEG planning, decision-making, and execution
• Establish Data Science analytics capabilities and processes to generate data-driven insights for faster, better decision-making across JAPAC Medical Affairs
• Lead JAPAC medical talent development programs such as Thrive and FLOURISH, promoting these initiatives in partnership with HR and cross-functional leaders
• Collaborate with global Learning & Performance, field capability, and Scientific Communications teams to design and implement training programs aligned with identified capability gaps from internal and external feedback
• Maximize the impact of training programs to improve productivity and support achievement of organizational goals
