Assistant Engineer / Engineer (Facility Maintenance)

Job Summary

Responsible for managing SRTC workplace services that enhance occupant experience, cleanliness, comfort, safety and operational efficiency. The incumbent will support and ensure the safe execution all soft services while supporting business continuity and organisational objectives. Ensure service providers deliver high-quality services in accordance with contractual and organizational requirements, provide timely assistance, issue resolution and compliance with safety and quality standards. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support operational objectives and continuous improvement initiatives. Support TFCC, Yard Master and Shunting teams where required.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Cleaning & Housekeeping

• Manage day-to-day cleaning operations by service contractor.

• Ensure cleanliness standards are achieved across all facilities.

• Monitor cleaning quality and service performance.

• Conduct inspections and audits.

2. Security Services

• Manage contracted security manpower and operations.

• Access control and visitor management.

• Coordinate emergency and incident responses.

• Ensure compliance with security procedures.

3. Pest Control & Hygiene

• Manage pest control programs.

• Ensure workplace hygiene standards are maintained.

• Respond to ad hoc pest removal activation and management.

4. Waste & Green Management

• Manage waste collection and disposal services.

• Implement recycling and sustainability initiatives.

• Ensure environmental compliance.

5. Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance

• Oversee landscape maintenance contracts.

• Ensure grounds are maintained safely and professionally.

• Manage tree inspections and horticultural works.

6. Visits & Event Support

• Coordinate meeting/event room setups.

• Support corporate and operational visits and events.

• Manage AV and event logistics services.

• Preparation of presentation slides.

7. Space Management

• Manage and coordinate workspace layouts and utilization, office moves and relocations.

• Manage SRTC Assets

• Support workplace transformation initiatives.

• Support premise information to customers and for quotation support.

8. Vendor & Contract Management

• Manage outsourced service providers.

• Review service delivery against KPIs and SLAs.

• Conduct contract reviews and tender exercises.

• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

9. Budget Management

• Manage operational budgets.

• Monitor service costs and cost optimization initiatives.

• Support procurement and contract administration.

10. Customer Service Management

• Address tenant and user feedback.

• Resolve service-related complaints.

• Conduct customer satisfaction surveys.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Facilities Management, Hospitality Management, Property Management, or equivalent. 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in field service, technical support, maintenance, or equipment servicing.

• 5-10 years in facilities management, operations, hospitality, workplace services, or property management.

• Experience managing outsourced services and contractors.
