Senior Manager, Global Supply Chain Management
Reports To: Senior Director, Global Supply Chain Management
The Senior Manager, Global Supply Chain Management is responsible for leading Components Sourcing, supply chain analytics & order fulfilment within an EMS environment. Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Supply Chain Management, this role plays a critical part in supporting Components Sourcing/RFQ activities, Customer Quote request, cost modelling, Demand/Supply management and data-driven decision-making to ensure product cost competitiveness and operational excellence.
This position bridges supply chain execution, cost analytics, and commercial support by translating supply chain data into actionable insights that support business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Materials & Procurement Leadership
Lead and manage Components sourcing, manage purchasing teams to support production and customer demand.
Ensure material availability while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to meet quality, cost, delivery, and capacity requirements.
Drive supplier performance management, including cost reduction, lead-time improvement, MOQ reduction and optimizations and continuity of supply.
RFQ Support & Cost Quoting
Lead supply chain participation in customer RFQs, providing accurate and competitive material cost inputs.
Develop and validate BOM costing, material lead times, MOQ impacts, and lifecycle risk assessments during the quoting process.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Program Management, Engineering, and Finance to support pricing strategies and cost targets.
Identify cost risks and opportunities early in the quoting phase and recommend mitigation strategies.
Supply Chain Analytics & Financial Performance
Own and drive supply chain analytics related to Materials cost, cost trends, and supplier price movements.
Develop dashboards and reporting to track material cost performance against quoted prices.
Analyse material cost performance by customer, program, and commodity; recommend corrective actions as needed.
Support working capital initiatives through data-driven inventory optimization and demand planning insights.
Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives across materials and sourcing, including alternate sourcing, negotiations, and VA/VE opportunities.
Implement best practices and standardized processes for purchasing, procurement, and cost analytics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Engineering on NPI support, component selection, and lifecycle management.
Collaborate with Quality and Supplier Quality teams on supplier development initiatives.
Serve as a key supply chain interface for Sales and Finance on costing, margin analysis, and pricing decisions.
Risk Management & Compliance
Identify material and supplier risks including single-source components, allocation risks, and end-of-life exposure.
Develop and maintain mitigation strategies such as alternate sourcing and long-term agreements.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.
15+ to 20+ years of progressive experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain analytics within an EMS manufacturing environment.
10+ years of people leadership experience managing supply chain or materials teams.
Demonstrated experience supporting RFQs, BOM costing, and material margin analysis.
Strong understanding of EMS materials costing, BOM structures, component market & demand/supply dynamics
Advanced analytical skills with experience in cost analysis & margin tracking, and cost modelling.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and data analytics tools (Excel advanced, Power BI, or similar).
Excellent negotiation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to balance operational execution with financial and strategic analysis.
Required to travel occasionally
