JOB SUMMARY

The Entertainment & Public Relation Manager is responsible for developing and executing COTU's entertainment strategy, event programming, public relations initiatives, and VIP guest engagement.

The role will oversee the planning and delivery of live performances, DJ programming, themed events, activations, and special experiences that strengthen COTU's position as a leading lifestyle, entertainment, and F&B destination.

Working closely with Operations, Marketing, Reservations, Front-of-House, and external partners, the Entertainment & Public Relation Manager will ensure that every event is well-conceived, commercially relevant, operationally seamless, and aligned with COTU's brand identity.

The role also serves as a key brand representative, building relationships with artists, media, influencers, key opinion leaders, VIP guests, corporate partners, and other industry stakeholders to increase brand awareness, engagement, and guest loyalty.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Entertainment & Event Programming

  • Conceptualise, develop, plan, and execute entertainment programmes, live performances, themed events, activations, and special experiences across COTU's venues.
  • Develop a dynamic and engaging entertainment calendar that aligns with COTU's brand positioning, target audience, and business objectives.
  • Research current entertainment trends, artists, performers, DJs, concepts, and experiences to identify opportunities relevant to COTU.
  • Curate and coordinate entertainment line-ups, including DJs, live bands, musicians, performers, hosts, artists, and other entertainment partners.
  • Liaise and negotiate with artists, DJs, performers, promoters, agencies, and entertainment suppliers.
  • Develop event concepts that complement COTU's F&B, nightlife, lifestyle, and hospitality offerings.
  • Coordinate event schedules, programming, technical requirements, production requirements, and performance timings.
  • Ensure all event concepts are properly planned and approved before execution.
  • Develop event briefs, run sheets, production schedules, and other relevant event documentation.

2. Event Logistics & Execution

  • Manage event logistics from initial planning through to on-ground execution.
  • Coordinate venues, production, sound and lighting, entertainment, décor, equipment, staffing, vendors, and other event requirements.
  • Prepare and monitor event budgets to ensure spending remains within approved limits.
  • Source, brief, and coordinate external vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure all vendors, artists, and performers are properly briefed on schedules, requirements, venue guidelines, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings with relevant internal teams.
  • Oversee the smooth execution of events and activations on the ground.
  • Act as the key point of contact during events and respond promptly to operational or guest-related issues.
  • Conduct post-event reviews to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for future events.

3. Public Relations & Brand Visibility

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, influencers, key opinion leaders, content creators, and relevant industry contacts.
  • Identify opportunities to increase COTU's media exposure, brand visibility, and public profile.
  • Coordinate media attendance and coverage for key events, launches, activations, and entertainment programmes.
  • Develop and maintain media and influencer databases.
  • Draft or coordinate press releases, media kits, event announcements, talking points, and other communication materials.
  • Work closely with PR agencies and the Marketing team to develop publicity strategies and campaigns.
  • Coordinate media visits, interviews, influencer engagements, and content opportunities.
  • Support the Company in managing public communications during sensitive situations or potential reputational issues.
  • Ensure external communications are aligned with COTU's brand identity and approved messaging.
  • Represent COTU professionally at media events, industry gatherings, networking functions, and other relevant events.

4. VIP & Guest Relations

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with VIP guests, regular patrons, corporate partners, influencers, artists, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support the development of COTU's VIP and guest engagement strategy.
  • Manage guest lists, invitations, table allocations, seating arrangements, and hospitality requirements for key events.
  • Coordinate VIP arrivals, hosting arrangements, special requests, and overall guest experience.
  • Work closely with Reservations, Front-of-House, and Operations teams to ensure VIP and guest requirements are communicated and executed effectively.
  • Build relationships with high-value guests and identify opportunities to strengthen loyalty and repeat visitation.
  • Maintain appropriate records of key guest and stakeholder relationships while respecting Company privacy and data protection requirements.
  • Handle VIP or guest concerns professionally and escalate matters where necessary.

5. Marketing & Campaign Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop promotional strategies for events, entertainment programmes, and activations.
  • Provide creative concepts, content ideas, event information, and entertainment assets to support marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate on social media, digital, influencer, PR, and promotional initiatives.
  • Ensure event concepts and entertainment programmes are aligned with wider marketing campaigns and COTU's brand messaging.
  • Identify opportunities for brand collaborations, partnerships, sponsorships, and cross-promotional activities.
  • Work with Marketing to maximise pre-event awareness, attendance, engagement, and post-event content.
  • Support the creation of event-related content, including artist profiles, event descriptions, promotional copy, and media materials.

6. Partnerships & Collaborations

  • Identify and develop relationships with entertainment companies, promoters, artists, agencies, brands, influencers, and potential commercial partners.
  • Explore collaboration opportunities that can enhance COTU's entertainment offering and brand visibility.
  • Evaluate partnership proposals based on audience relevance, brand fit, commercial value, and operational feasibility.
  • Coordinate agreed partnerships and ensure all deliverables are fulfilled.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external partners to create opportunities for future collaborations.

7. Budget & Commercial Management

  • Prepare event budgets and track expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Negotiate fees and commercial terms with artists, performers, vendors, agencies, and other suppliers.
  • Ensure entertainment and event costs are commercially justified and aligned with expected business outcomes.
  • Monitor event performance and return on investment.
  • Identify opportunities to increase event attendance, guest spend, brand exposure, and overall commercial value.
  • Work with Finance and Management to ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and event-related expenses.

8. Reporting & Performance Analysis

  • Monitor event performance, including attendance, guest engagement, media coverage, social media performance, revenue, and ROI where applicable.
  • Prepare post-event reports highlighting key results, feedback, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Track performance of entertainment programmes and identify trends that can inform future programming.
  • Maintain an organised calendar of upcoming events, entertainment bookings, media activities, and key engagements.
  • Provide regular updates to Management on upcoming events, partnerships, risks, and opportunities.

9. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all events and entertainment activities comply with applicable licensing, regulatory, health and safety, and operational requirements.
  • Ensure artists, performers, vendors, and external partners comply with COTU's operational and safety requirements.
  • Identify potential event risks and coordinate appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Ensure appropriate approvals, permits, contracts, insurance, and other documentation are obtained where required.
  • Ensure event activities are conducted in accordance with COTU policies and brand standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Events Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Entertainment Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in events, entertainment, nightlife, hospitality, PR, lifestyle, or F&B.
  • Proven experience in planning and executing entertainment programmes, events, activations, or nightlife experiences.
  • Established network of artists, DJs, performers, promoters, media, influencers, or entertainment partners is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the Singapore lifestyle, entertainment, nightlife, and F&B landscape.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong client, guest, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience working with PR agencies, media, influencers, and marketing teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of event budgets and ROI.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; experience with event management, CRM, or reporting platforms is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and extended hours as required by event schedules.
