OVERVIEW

CNBC International is looking for an HR Coordinator to provide comprehensive operational support to the International HR team in employee lifecycle processes. This role provides exposure to a range of generalist activities, embedding the HR Coordinator as a key member of the HR team for the business.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for a range of HR related queries and administrative processes.

You’ll be joining a collaborative and friendly team of corporate functions professionals working alongside digital and TV news experts, creative talents, operations specialists, and sales teams. Reporting to the HR Director, CNBC International, this role offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build on their HR Generalist skills within a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

HRIS & Payroll

  • Maintain accurate and timely employee records in Workday, ensuring data quality, compliance, and reliable reporting across the employee lifecycle.

  • Serve as primary expert for all HR systems and transactions to keep our business running.

  • Partner with the HR Generalist, payroll teams, and relevant vendors to deliver accurate data and run monthly payroll reports, and maintaining up-to-date trackers for all our processes.

  • Provide timely employee data to benefits providers for new hires, lifecycle changes, and leavers, while managing vendor escalations and feedback on benefits matters.

  • Support the ongoing integration and optimization of Workday across CNBC International, including testing system enhancements, documenting processes, and identifying opportunities to streamline HR workflows.

  • Build employee and manager confidence in Workday by creating clear guidance, troubleshooting self-service issues, and promoting adoption of available tools and functionality.

  • Partner with HR Operations and relevant stakeholders to ensure Workday processes, data standards/changes, and reporting requirements are consistently implemented across the region.

Employee Experience

  • Deliver outstanding first-line support for daily HR queries from employees and managers, proactively enhancing the employee experience while escalating complex issues to the HR Director as needed.

  • Champion and support CNBC employee engagement initiatives, serving as the go-to resource for queries about employee events and experiences across CNBC International.

  • Assist and support onboarding and offboarding processes, including managing new hire background checks, creating and updating employee records in HRIS, and ensuring all induction and offer materials are accurate and complete.

Administrative Support

  • Prepare employment contracts, letters, and communications related to employee lifecycle changes and accurately document and track their contents.

  • Partner with the HR Generalist to prepare job descriptions and work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to support open requisitions.

  • Track and capture all visa and immigration related documentation.

  • Assist in any program rollouts (i.e. performance review process, salary planning, benefits open enrollment, early careers programs, etc.)

  • Ensure prompt processing of employee benefits and perks, such as gift vouchers for long service awards and life event recognition.

  • Plan and coordinate induction sessions and HR events, while providing administrative support for organizational changes.

  • Support Global Mobility in managing internal and external relocations, and remote working requests.

  • Use HR systems to provide accurate reports and data to HR business partners, government surveys, and business leaders.

  • Organize, conduct and maintain data on leavers and exit interviews.

  • Support with note taking in a variety of meetings.

  • Check and process invoices.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

In this role, you’ll exercise sound personal judgment, cultivate relationships, and explore available resources to rapidly build institutional knowledge and effectively support our client groups. The attributes below are essential in successfully accomplishing this.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing new processes and project deliverables.

  • Excellent digital fluency skills, including the ability to coordinate and administer meetings using communication platforms (e.g., Zoom, and Slack) and strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Ability to succinctly record in writing the main points of what is presented in a meeting, highlighting important key topics or themes that are emphasized, and organizing the material in a style that will best capture facts, ideas, and action item.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of management and staff including executive levels.

  • Methodical and organized in your approach to work with high attention to detail and a professional, calm manner.

  • A supportive and collaborative team member with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and a pro-active, solutions orientated approach to work.

  • Adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines

  • Punctual and able to effectively manage time.

  • Excellent written and oral communication.

  • Strong attention to detail.

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES 

While not essential for this role, candidates with experience or proficiency in the following attributes tend to excel in this position. 

  • Two (2) or more years of experience working in administrative and/or planning capacities.

  • Fluency in Chinese language in order to edit templates, appropriately file documents, and understand important aspects of employee files and benefits.

  • Experience working within an HR specialty or environment.
