Software System Architect – Embedded / Security Products

The Software System Architect will lead the architecture, design and development of embedded software, firmware and application-level solutions for high-performance security products. The role involves defining system architecture, guiding technical decisions, leading engineering teams and ensuring successful product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end software architecture, system interfaces and technical roadmaps.
• Translate product requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable solutions.
• Design, develop, integrate and validate embedded software and firmware.
• Customize embedded Linux platforms such as Yocto and PetaLinux, with exposure to RTOS/bare-metal systems.
• Lead application-level software development, system integration, performance tuning and testing.
• Lead and mentor software engineers and conduct architecture, design, code and test reviews.
• Drive best practices in secure coding, DevOps, CI/CD and software engineering.
• Troubleshoot complex system and architectural issues and guide technical decisions.
• Collaborate with product/project teams, hardware engineers, vendors and customers.
• Maintain architecture/design documentation and ensure compliance with quality and cybersecurity standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in embedded systems/software development, with experience in software architecture and technical leadership.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, Rust, Python and Bash.
• Strong experience with Embedded Linux, including OS customization, kernel configuration and build systems such as Yocto/PetaLinux.
• Good understanding of hardware-software integration, system debugging and performance optimization.
• Strong networking knowledge covering Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, routing, switching and network security.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and software deployment environments.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, GitLab and Docker.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and technical leadership skills.

Preferred

• Experience with Linux kernel drivers, BSPs, low-level firmware, FPGA/SoC or hardware-accelerated platforms.
• Exposure to C#, web frameworks or GUI development.
• Knowledge of SSDLC and secure coding.
• Experience with security products, cryptographic applications, HSM, KMS or secure communications.
