Role Purpose
The Regional Internal Audit Manager is responsible for providingindependent and objective assurance and advisory support on the effectivenessof Cordlife Group’s governance, risk management and internal controlenvironment.
Therole will lead and execute a risk-based internal audit programme across theGroup’s regional operations, covering key business functions and entities. Theposition will work closely with senior management and business leaders toidentify key risks, evaluate control effectiveness, recommend improvements andmonitor the implementation of corrective actions.
Therole requires strong professional judgement, stakeholder management capabilityand the ability to operate effectively within a regulated healthcare and lifesciences environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Internal AuditPlanning & Execution
· Develop and implement acomprehensive, risk-based internal audit plan aligned with the Group’sstrategic objectives, business priorities and key risk areas.
· Lead and execute internalaudits across regional operations and business entities.
· Conduct audits coveringFinance, Operations, Compliance, Quality Assurance, IT and other key functions,based on the approved audit plan and emerging risks.
· Perform audit fieldwork,including data analysis, interviews, process walkthroughs, testing anddocumentation reviews.
· Identify control weaknesses,process gaps and areas of potential operational and compliance risk.
· Assess the design and operatingeffectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
· Ensure audit activities areconducted in accordance with the International Standards for the ProfessionalPractice of Internal Auditing (IIA Standards).
2. Risk, Controls &Governance
· Evaluate the effectiveness ofthe Group’s internal control and risk management frameworks.
· Identify emerging risks andassess their potential impact on business operations and objectives.
· Provide practical andactionable recommendations to strengthen governance, controls, compliance andoperational effectiveness.
· Advise management onopportunities to enhance internal controls and improve business processes.
· Promote awareness of effectiverisk management and internal control practices across the organisation.
3. Audit Reporting &Follow-Up
· Prepare clear and comprehensiveaudit reports covering audit observations, risks, root causes, implications andrecommendations.
· Present significant auditfindings and key risk matters to senior management and the Audit & RiskCommittee.
· Work with relevant businessfunctions to agree appropriate corrective actions and timelines.
· Monitor and report on thestatus of remediation and closure of audit findings.
· Escalate significant or overdueaudit issues through the appropriate governance channels.
4. Regulatory &Compliance Assurance
· Assess compliance withapplicable laws, regulations, internal policies and industry standards.
· Support audits, regulatoryinspections and accreditation processes where required.
· Provide audit and compliancesupport relating to relevant healthcare and industry requirements, includingMOH, AABB and FACT standards, as applicable to the respective operations.
· Monitor developments in theregulatory and risk environment and assess their potential implications for theGroup.
· Maintain awareness of relevantSingapore regulatory requirements, including MAS, IRAS and ACRA, whereapplicable to the Group’s activities.
5. Stakeholder &External Engagement
· Develop effective workingrelationships with senior management, functional leaders and country managementteams across the region.
· Partner with business functionswhile maintaining the independence and objectivity required of the internalaudit function.
· Liaise with external auditorsand regulatory bodies, where required and authorised.
· Provide independent andobjective insights to management on significant control, risk and governancematters.
6. Internal AuditFunction Development
· Contribute to the continuousdevelopment and maturity of the Group’s internal audit framework, methodologyand processes.
· Identify opportunities toleverage data analytics, audit technology and automation to enhance auditeffectiveness.
· Mentor internal audit teammembers and/or co-sourced audit resources.
· Promote a culture of continuousimprovement, accountability and strong internal controls across theorganisation.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree inAccounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management or a related discipline.
· Professional qualification suchas CIA, CPA, CA Singapore or ACCA is preferred.
· Minimum 7 years of relevantaudit experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
· Prior experience in internalaudit, external audit, risk advisory or a related assurance function.
· Experience within healthcare,life sciences, Big 4 or other regulated industries will be an advantage.
· Experience operating within aregional or multi-country environment is preferred.
Required Skills &Competencies
· Strong understanding of risk-basedinternal auditing, internal controls, risk management and regulatorycompliance.
· Good knowledge of recognisedinternal control and governance frameworks, including COSO and IIA Standards.
· Familiarity with relevantSingapore regulatory requirements and guidelines.
· Strong analytical,investigative and problem-solving capabilities.
· Ability to assess complexbusiness processes, identify root causes and translate findings into practicalrecommendations.
· Strong report-writing andpresentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly tosenior stakeholders.
· Strong stakeholder managementand interpersonal skills.
· High level of integrity,independence, confidentiality and professional judgement.
· Ability to work independentlywhile collaborating effectively with stakeholders across different functionsand countries.
· Strong organisational skillswith the ability to manage multiple audits, priorities and deadlines.
· Proficiency in audit software,data analytics tools and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
· Willingness to undertakeregional travel as required.
