Job Description

  • Assist CAG research projects and activities, and support CAG Faculty, Faculty Associates, and Senior Research Fellows and Faculty in their research projects
  • Conduct research under the guidance of CAG faculty in support of ongoing CAG projects
  • Organise and support CAG events, including academic and policy conferences and workshops
  • Perform independent research, and write academic and policy research papers and reports
  • Compile and manage research materials and products
  • Prepare background briefs, presentations, and track specific issues
  • Provide editorial and management support to research projects, events, and publications
  • Undertake other administrative duties related to research projects such as managing correspondence and filing
  • Support CAG public engagement including social media content management and website maintenance

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree holder in a discipline within the social sciences and/or humanities
  • Expertise or interests in any of the following:
  • - International Relations of Southeast Asia/ASEAN
  • - Asian politics and international relations, including great power politics
  • - Comparative National and Regional Resilience
  • Strong analytical ability and strong self-motivation
  • Able to work independently
  • An ability to engage with research and policy communities in Asia and around the world
  • A strong sense of collegiality
  • Due to the nature of the role, excellent spoken and written English is essential
  • Ability/experience with social media content management tools
