About this job
Supervise all activities in the assigned division/LOBs to ensure a smooth sailing daily operations and business needs are met whilst maximizing productivity and minimizing costs. This includes compliance to company policies, adherence to local regulations and addressing non-compliance cases. In addition, dependent on the assigned division/LOBs, the incumbent may also need to work with external vendors (2PL/3PL) and manage contingency workers engaged to meet operational needs. This role will also ensure that functional strategies are implemented and support the (Senior) Manager Country Operations in managing the performance and capabilities of the team.
Operations Management & Compliance
- Ensure effective and timely implementation of all logistics daily operational
goals.
- Supervise all activities in the assigned division/LOBs - includes overseeing and
monitoring purchases required for the necessary daily operations.
- Monitor quality of daily operational activities; introduce interventions to address
non-conformance.
- Plan and arrange daily logistics and schedules.
- Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders - both internal and
external.
- Assist in managing the operational risks in the assigned division/LOBs.
- Identify areas of improvement in operations and provide recommendations;
simplify and streamline to accelerate logistics and enhance efficiencies; execute
approved changes.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in company policies and local regulations;
ensure compliance; investigate and address non-compliance; follow up and
ensure corrective actions are taken.
Insights, Reporting & Others
- Prepare monthly reports for various stakeholders.
- Review and assess performance of vendors.
- Analyze operational issues, identify patterns where possible, and give suggestions to resolve these challenges.
- Ensure proper documentations are kept where required.
- Verify vendor invoices received and ensure timely submission to Finance for payment processing.
- Assist with both internal and external audits.
- Plan work schedules and manage team's performance, identify training needs and motivating the team to achieve the department's objectives.
- Conduct orientation to new hires and ensure all mandatory trainings are completed within stipulated timeframe.
- Ensure the team meets training requirements and comply with WSH standards.
- Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation, distribution, supply chain or related fields. Good command of English language to liaise with external parties and preparing reports.
