JOB SUMMARY
TheMechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer will be responsible for thedesign coordination, installation supervision, and commissioning of mechanicaland electrical systems across Anderco's construction projects. This role worksclosely with project teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure M&Eworks are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification.
TheM&E Engineer is the primary technical point of contact for all buildingservices matters on site, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing(MEP) systems are correctly installed, tested, and handed over in compliancewith Singapore's regulatory requirements and client expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. M&E DesignCoordination
• Review andinterpret M&E drawings, specifications, and design documentation
• Coordinate M&Edesign with structural, architectural, and civil engineering teams
• Identify designclashes and discrepancies; propose practical solutions and value engineeringoptions
• Ensure compliancewith relevant Singapore codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (BCA,NEA, PUB, SCDF, SP Group)
2. Site Supervision& Construction Management
• Supervise andcoordinate M&E subcontractors and direct labour on site
• Monitor progress ofM&E installations against the construction programme
• Conduct qualityinspections to ensure workmanship meets drawings and specifications
• Manage materialsprocurement, site deliveries, and equipment inspections in coordination withthe project team
3. ProjectCoordination & Documentation
• Liaise with themain contractor, consultants, and regulatory authorities on all M&E matters
• Prepare and manageM&E documentation including RFIs, method statements, material submittals,and inspection test plans (ITPs)
• Coordinatetemporary mechanical and electrical services during the construction phase
• Track M&Eprogress, flag issues early, and report variations to the project manager
4. Testing,Commissioning & Handover
• Plan, execute, anddocument testing and commissioning (T&C) of all M&E systems
• Ensure M&Esystems meet performance specifications and regulatory requirements prior tooccupation
• Preparecommissioning reports, as-built drawings, and operations & maintenance(O&M) manuals
• Support the defectsliability period (DLP) process and coordinate rectification works
5. Health, Safety& Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure all M&Eworks are carried out in accordance with WSH Act requirements and site safetyplans
• Participate in sitesafety inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox meetings
• IdentifyM&E-related safety hazards and implement appropriate controls
• Ensurepermits-to-work (PTW) are in place for all high-risk M&E activities
KEY COMPETENCIES
• Strong technicalknowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in buildingconstruction
• Proficient inreading and interpreting M&E drawings, specifications, and schematics
• Familiar withSingapore codes and standards (e.g., CP5, CP88, SS638, IEE Wiring Regulations)
• Goodcross-disciplinary coordination and communication skills across project teams
• Meticulous,detail-oriented, and systematic in approach to quality and documentation
• Able to workindependently, manage multiple tasks, and deliver under time pressure
• Client-centric witha commitment to safety, quality, and delivery excellence
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Degree or Diplomain Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building ServicesEngineering, or a related discipline
• 3–8 years ofrelevant experience in M&E engineering within the construction or buildingindustry
• Experience onbuilding or infrastructure projects in Singapore preferred
• Proficiency inAutoCAD; experience with BIM / Revit MEP is an advantage
• Familiarity withSingapore regulatory requirements and authority submission processes (BCA, NEA,PUB, SCDF) preferred
• Registered with PEB(Professional Engineers Board) or working towards registration is an advantage
WORKING CONDITIONS
Thestandard working week consists of five and a half (5.5) days; however, you maybe required to work on Sundays based on project demands.
Regularsite visits and inspections are an integral part of this role.
