*URGENT* 6m Locum Staff Nurse (Mental Health IPW, Central) #HAC
About this job
Job Scope
• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Mental Health Inpatient Ward.
• Perform patient assessment, monitoring and documentation.
• Administer medications and carry out nursing procedures according to hospital protocols.
• Monitor patients’ physical and mental condition and escalate any changes to the medical team.
• Assist with patient hygiene, mobility, nutrition and other activities of daily living.
• Work closely with doctors, allied health professionals and the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• When mental health ward workload is low, be open to deployment to Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) wards.
Requirements
• Registered Staff Nurse with valid SNB practising certificate.
• Relevant hospital/acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Mental Health training is NOT required.
• Comfortable working 2 or 3 rotating shifts.
• Able to commit at least 4–5 days per week for the duration of the contract.
