About this job
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a detailed plan for enhancing product quality, in alignment with the company’s strategic goals and vision.
- Guide and lead in different teams to identify and analyze root causes of quality issues.
- Design and implement corrective and preventive measures to prevent future quality challenges.
- Supervise and document product quality metrics to monitor developments and pinpoint areas needing enhancement.
- Carry out inspections and evaluations to detect and rectify potential quality threats.
- Cooperate with vendors to ensure their products comply with our quality standards.
- Work alongside various divisions, including engineering, manufacturing, classification societies, and suppliers, to maintain uniform quality throughout the product lifecycle.
- Keep updated of the latest quality enhancement methodologies and tools.
- Monitor and analyze warranty data for reporting, implement changes to new products, and drive continuous enhancement.
- Recognize and communicate process and product enhancements.
- Persistently seek to identify and mitigate areas of quality risk before they affect the vessel.
- Provide regular communications and reports to key internal stakeholders.
- Uphold high quality standards and cost control within financial constraints.
- Facilitate customer familiarization with our products.
- Occasionally travel to the vessels’ operational regions to conduct fact-finding on their operations and the acceptance of our products.
- Communicate proficiently by actively listening, clearly conveying information, and offering constructive feedback at all staff levels while fostering trust through authentic, respectful, and dependable interactions.
- Liaise with shipyard personnel and management to uphold product quality, and cultivate key relationships with partners, clients, contractors, suppliers, and official entities.
- Negotiate on the company’s behalf, accepting practical compromises when needed, while building a robust network of industry suppliers and subcontractors.
- Oversee quality improvement documentation, comprehend vessel specifications and classification regulations, manage warranty claims, and pursue continuous personal and professional growth, demonstrating accountability for objectives.
Qualifications:
Education & Professional Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Metallurgy) from a recognized institution and other qualifications in O&G sectors
- CSWIP 3.1 or AWS or ASNT would be of added value (candidate to at least demonstrate understanding of the above certifications)
- Lead Auditor on Management Systems (ISO9001,ISO14001&ISO45001)
- Experience in application of RCA methods, investigation techniques
- Proven ability and experience in developing and implementing management systems (ISO9001,ISO14001 & ISO 45001) in organizations.
- Exposure to Enterprises Risk Management (ERM) processes
- Knowledge and experience on ASME U & R certifications (BPVC)
- Proven ability in document development ( policies, SIPOC, PFM, procedures, checklists, templates)
- Training module development and presentations
- Lessons Learned facilitator experience
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ combined QA-QC experience covering marine, oil and gas EPC projects (onshore /offshore), heavy fabrication, process plants, etc.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in QA-QC Manager role
- Proved auditing experience & capability in preparing and implementing quality assurance policies, procedures/plans/instructions
- Strong management practices and techniques
- Very good analytical and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of safety and environmental practices related to industry
- Good knowledge of marine, oil & gas industry standards/ codes/ regulations
Computer Skills:
- Good knowledge of MS Office and web applications
