Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery governance of large-scale data centre infrastructure implementation project.

This role will be accountable for the overall project execution, cross-workstream integration, schedule governance, stakeholder alignment, risk management, and successful project commissioning. The appointed candidate must combine strong technical knowledge in network infrastructure implementation with proven project leadership experience in complex data centre commissioning / ICT deployment programmes.

The environment will involve multiple internal and external workstreams, separate project managers, technical leads, vendors, subcontractors, consultants, and 3rd party contractors. Success in this role requires strong leadership presence, structured governance discipline, collaborative execution, and decisive escalation management.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary Project Manager to develop, baseline, monitor, and continuously optimise integrated project schedules across all vendors and workstreams, manage and closely track risks, issues, dependencies, milestones, critical path, commissioning, and handover timelines.
  • Establish and drive project governance cadence including weekly progress reviews, risk forums, and executive reporting.
  • Ensure all project deliverables are completed safely, on time, within scope, within budget, and to contractual quality standards.
  • Report regularly to Project Director, internal governance committee, and customer leadership stakeholders.
  • Identify slippages early and drive recovery plans, acceleration strategies, and mitigation actions.
  • Manage change requests, impact assessments, and timeline adjustments in a controlled manner.
  • Validate technical readiness for implementation phases and ensure dependencies are fully aligned.
  • Review method statements, implementation sequencing, cutover plans, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage escalations professionally and promptly to avoid delivery impact.
  • Maintain strong customer confidence through proactive communication and transparent reporting.
  • Monitor quality assurance across installations, documentation, testing, and commissioning readiness.
  • Ensure submission of weekly, monthly, and executive dashboards covering schedule health, budget exposure, risks, resources, and milestones.
  • Maintain project management plans, implementation plans, risks mitigation plans and acceptance documentation, ensure all contractual records, approvals, and correspondence are properly governed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of technical project management experience in infrastructure projects involving Network / Security / Systems.
  • Certified IT Program Management Professional (PgMP), Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Proven experience managing at least one project of equivalent size and complexity, in large-scale Data Centre new build/migration/upgrade programmes.
  • Experience working with enterprise or government customers in highly governed environments is highly advantageous.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of: Data Centre network implementation; Core switching / routing / firewalls; Structured cabling environments ; Systems infrastructure and rack deployments; Testing, migration, cutover, commissioning processes
  • Ability to interpret technical designs and convert them into executable delivery plans.
  • Excellent stakeholder management across executive, customer, vendor, and technical audiences.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution capability.
  • High ownership mindset with the ability to lead under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Strong commercial awareness, contractual discipline, and change management capability.
  • Excellent planning skills using MS Project / equivalent scheduling tools.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to foresee risks and implement mitigation early.

Certifications

  • PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent recognised project management certification.
  • ITIL certification is advantageous.
  • Relevant networking certifications such as CCNA / CCNP / equivalent strongly preferred.
