Social Worker (Family Support Services)

The Eurasian Association (EA) is a community-based self-help group dedicated to strengthening the well-being ofthe Eurasian community through programmes and services that support families, education, heritage and community development.

We are seeking a committed and professionally competent Social Worker to support EA's Family Support Services. The successful candidate will work closely with the Family Support Services Sub-Committee, community partners and volunteers to develop and deliver casework, counselling, outreach and family support interventions that strengthen resilience, promote self-reliance and improve social outcomes within the Eurasian community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advance EA’s Family Support Services through quality casework, proactive community outreach, family support programmes and initiatives.
  • Assess referral cases to determine their suitability for intake and establish professional relationships with clients, their families, caregivers and other relevant support networks.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs and intake assessments by identifying clients' presenting issues, strengths, risks and available support to determine appropriate interventions.
  • Develop, implement and regularly review intervention plans, providing casework support, counselling and crisis intervention, where required.
  • Engage clients through a range of methods, including home visits, face-to-face interviews, telephone and virtual sessions, to assess needs, deliver interventions and monitor progress.
  • Facilitate clients' access to community resources, financial assistance and other support services to enhance their well-being.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with government agencies, social service organisations, schools and community stakeholders to coordinate services and achieve positive out comes for clients.
  • Prepare and maintain timely, accurate and confidential case records, reports and documentation in accordance with organisational policies, standard operating procedures and professional standards.
  • Plan and facilitate family support programmes, workshops and community outreach initiatives that strengthen families, build resilience and support vulnerable individuals within the Eurasian community.
  • Contribute to service planning, programme development and evaluation by keeping abreast of emerging community needs and evidence-based social work practices to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

  • At least a Degree or Graduate Diploma in Social Work from a recognised institution.
  • Preferably with a year of relevant experience in family services, casework or community-based social work. Relevant accreditation is an advantage. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Strong assessment, counselling, case management and report writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to conduct home visits and evening or weekend work when required.
  • Passion for serving individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
