About this job

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the post-fixture operations of vessels following the conclusion of charter parties.
  • Act as the main point of contact between owners, charterers, brokers, agents, terminals, masters, and internal commercial teams.
  • Monitor vessel performance and ensure all contractual obligations under the charter party are fulfilled.
  • Coordinate vessel voyage schedules, port calls, loading, discharging, bunkering, and cargo operations.
  • Issue and review voyage instructions and ensure vessels comply with charter party requirements.
  • Monitor vessel movements and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise with masters and agents regarding ETA, NOR, berthing, loading and discharging operations.
  • Review and verify Statement of Facts (SOF), timesheets, notices, and other operational documents.
  • Monitor laytime calculations and coordinate with the demurrage team regarding potential claims.
  • Track off-hire, performance claims, speed and consumption, and other contractual matters.
  • Coordinate with the chartering and commercial teams to ensure the voyage is executed according to the agreed fixture.
  • Handle operational issues, delays, port disruptions, weather-related events, and other exceptions.
  • Ensure accurate recording of voyage costs and operational expenses.
  • Work closely with finance teams on freight, hire, bunker invoices, port costs, and other payments.
  • Assist with demurrage and claims management, providing supporting documents and operational evidence.
  • Maintain accurate records of fixtures, voyage documentation, and charter party correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, sanctions, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Typically 2–5 years of experience in shipping operations, post-fixture, vessel operations, or chartering operations.
  • Experience in dry bulk, tanker, container, or gas shipping depending on the company's fleet.
  • Strong understanding of charter parties and shipping terminology.
  • Familiarity with laytime, demurrage, NOR, SOF, off-hire, and vessel performance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple vessels simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
