The Safety and ISO Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and maintaining ISO standards within the organization. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and policies to protect employees, contractors, and visitors. The Safety and ISO Coordinator will also oversee the maintenance of ISO standards, ensuring that all practices align with the required guidelines and continuously improving the company's quality management system.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safety Program Development and Implementation: Develop and update safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and implement corrective actions.
    Coordinate and lead safety training programs for employees and contractors to promote a culture of safety awareness.
  2. Incident Management: Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
    Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and safety training activities.
    Prepare and submit incident reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
  3. Compliance and Auditing: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    Ensure the organization adheres to ISO standards and coordinate external and internal audits.
    Collaborate with department managers to address non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
  4. ISO Certification Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the company's ISO quality management system.
    Develop and update documentation required for ISO certification, including procedures, work instructions, and forms.
    Coordinate and facilitate ISO certification and surveillance audits, ensuring all required documentation and processes are in place.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and ISO compliance, identifying areas for improvement.
    Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance and quality management.
    Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and ISO standards, ensuring the company remains compliant and up-to-date.
  6. Communication and Reporting: Communicate safety policies, procedures, and best practices to all employees through various channels, including meetings, newsletters, and training sessions.
    Prepare and present safety and ISO compliance reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas of concern.
    Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, ISO auditors, and external stakeholders regarding safety and quality matters.
  7. Emergency Response and Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to ensure the safety of employees during emergencies.
    Conduct regular emergency drills and training sessions to prepare employees for potential emergencies.
    Coordinate with local emergency services and authorities to ensure effective emergency response and preparedness.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in occupational health and safety and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety or quality management role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience with ISO certification processes and maintaining quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require occasional travel to various company sites and facilities.
  • The role involves working in both office and industrial environments, with exposure to potential hazards.
  • The Safety and ISO Coordinator must be available to respond to emergencies and incidents as needed.
