Mechanical Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer with strong experience in SolidWorks and a solid understanding of thermal management for electronic assemblies. The role focuses on mechanical design for electronic products, including enclosures, heat sinks, and PCB-related thermal analysis.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks

• Design mechanical parts for electronic and PCB assemblies

• Perform thermal simulations for PCB and electronic components (conduction, convection, heat dissipation)

• Design and optimize heat sinks, enclosures, and thermal paths

• Collaborate with electrical engineers on PCB layout and thermal considerations

• Support prototype builds and design improvements

• Prepare manufacturing drawings and BOMs

Requirements

• Proficient in SolidWorks (part, assembly, drawing)

• Experience or knowledge in PCB thermal simulation / heat analysis

• Understanding of heat transfer principles (conduction, convection, radiation)

• Familiarity with electronics packaging and enclosure design

• Ability to interpret PCB layouts and component heat sources

• Good engineering documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience with SolidWorks Simulation / Flow Simulation or similar tools

• Knowledge of materials for thermal management (aluminum, copper, TIMs)

• Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal, or die-casting

• Experience working with RF or high-power electronics
