Messaging & Collaboration Engineer – SharePoint

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Messaging & Collaboration Engineer to oversee and administer SharePoint and Office 365 environments. This role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and reliable collaboration services while executing migrations and maintaining system health across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and administer SharePoint server on-premises (versions 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019) and SharePoint Online environments.

• Execute SharePoint migrations, including transitioning from on-premises servers to SharePoint Online or upgrading between on-premises versions.

• Define and enforce governance policies by managing site security, configuring user permissions, and applying server hardening measures.

• Perform essential operational tasks, including system patching, installing cumulative updates, executing backups, and managing disaster recovery strategies.

• Troubleshoot architecture issues, resolve end-user tickets using tools like JIRA or Remedy, and manage escalations within agreed SLAs.

• Leverage Power Platforms, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, to enhance business collaboration tools.

• Monitor system usage reports proactively to identify errors, perform root cause analysis, and ensure high availability.

• Administer supporting infrastructure, including Active Directory integration and basic SQL Server database management.

Required Experience & Skills

• A minimum of 6 years of extensive IT experience specifically focused on enterprise-level SharePoint Administration.

• Hands-on expertise in creating and customizing Web Applications, Team Sites, Document Libraries, and service applications.

• Strong troubleshooting skills related to web parts, user permissions, and document access.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional resolver groups, on-site coordinators, and end-users.

• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation for improving operational efficiency.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications

• Microsoft Certifications relevant to SharePoint Server administration, such as Core Solutions of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 or Managing Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016.

• Certifications related to cloud and identity management, including Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900), or Managing Office 365 Identities.
